Description

Elevate humble mushrooms into a flavor explosion with these Garlic Butter Soy Glazed Mushrooms. This quick and easy dish combines rich garlic, creamy butter, and savory soy sauce for an irresistible glaze.

Ingredients

  • Cremini (baby bella) mushrooms
  • Button mushrooms
  • Shiitake mushrooms
  • Unsalted butter
  • Fresh garlic
  • Low-sodium soy sauce
  • Honey or maple syrup or brown sugar
  • Rice vinegar
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  • Sliced green onions (optional)
  • Toasted sesame oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Mushrooms: First, ensure your mushrooms are clean. Gently wipe the cremini mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. Slice them into uniform, bite-sized pieces, about ¼ to ½ inch thick.
  2. Melt the Butter and Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet over medium heat, add unsalted butter and let it melt completely. Once shimmering, add minced fresh garlic and sauté for about 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Cook the Mushrooms: Increase heat to medium-high and add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are beautifully browned and tender.
  4. Prepare the Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together low-sodium soy sauce, your chosen sweetener, and optional rice vinegar until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  5. Glaze the Mushrooms: Pour the prepared glaze over the mushrooms in the skillet. Stir gently to coat and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the glaze thickens.
  6. Finish and Serve: Remove from heat, taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.
