Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles and cook according to package instructions (7-9 minutes) until al dente. Drain and set aside, tossing with a little olive oil to prevent sticking.
- In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken pieces, season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 5-7 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, pour in the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits. Bring to a simmer for 2-3 minutes. Stir in the heavy cream and let it simmer for another 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Gradually add the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and incorporated.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir to coat with the sauce. Add the drained egg noodles and gently toss until everything is well combined. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Plate the chicken buttered noodles in shallow bowls. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and additional Parmesan if desired. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Feel free to add vegetables like peas or spinach for extra nutrition.
- For a bit of heat, consider adding red pepper flakes to the seasoning.
