  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and light-brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  4. Mix in the salt and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients in three parts, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  7. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and chopped nuts (if using).
  8. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  9. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  10. Portion out the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  11. Press a few extra chocolate chips on top of each cookie if desired.
  12. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are slightly soft.
  13. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for about 5 minutes.
  14. Move the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
  15. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for longer storage.
