Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Any type of milk (dairy or non-dairy)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 ¼ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, ¾ cup of granulated sugar, and ¾ cup of packed brown sugar using a hand mixer or stand mixer until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in 1 large egg and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Gently fold in 2 cups of chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a tablespoon or a cookie scoop, drop rounded dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly underbaked; they will continue to cook on the baking sheet.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
