Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Start by taking the chicken breasts out of the refrigerator. Pat them dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned chicken breasts.
- Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on one side without moving it.
- Flip the chicken breasts and cook for an additional 6-7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Remove from skillet and cover loosely with aluminum foil.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Allow to melt and become bubbly.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden.
- Pour in 1 cup of chicken broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to deglaze.
- Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning, and 1 teaspoon of paprika. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese, stirring continuously until melted and incorporated.
- Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them.
- Allow to simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Remove the skillet from heat and transfer the chicken to a serving platter or individual plates.
- Drizzle any remaining sauce over the chicken and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately alongside your favorite sides.
Notes
- For extra flavor, consider marinating the chicken in olive oil, garlic, and herbs before cooking.
- You can add sautéed vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or sun-dried tomatoes to the dish for added nutrition.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently, adding a splash of chicken broth or cream if needed.
