Description

Crispy Oven Roasted Potatoes are a magical side dish that transforms humble potatoes into a golden-brown delight. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, they pair wonderfully with any meal.

Ingredients

  • Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
  • Red potatoes (optional)
  • Olive oil
  • Canola oil (optional)
  • Vegetable oil (optional)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Rosemary (optional)
  • Thyme (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • Paprika (optional)
  • Chopped onions (optional)
  • Bell peppers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly to remove any dirt. You can peel them if you prefer, but I usually leave the skins on for added texture. Cut the potatoes into even-sized chunks, about 1 to 2 inches wide.
  3. For extra crunch, soak the potato pieces in cold water for at least 30 minutes. Drain and dry them thoroughly with a clean kitchen towel.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the potato chunks with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any additional seasonings you like. Toss until they’re well coated.
  5. Spread the potatoes out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast for about 25-30 minutes. Halfway through, take them out and give them a good toss.
  7. They’re ready when they’re golden brown and crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. You can test them with a fork.
  8. Once they’re out of the oven, serve your crispy oven roasted potatoes immediately while they’re still hot and crispy.

Keywords: Try to cut your potatoes into uniform sizes for even cooking. A good coating of oil is essential for achieving that crispy texture. Feel free to experiment with different herbs and spices.
