Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- In one shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. In another bowl, whisk an egg with a splash of water.
- Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off. Then, coat it in the breadcrumb-Parmesan mixture, pressing lightly to ensure it sticks.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded chicken breasts and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
- While the chicken is baking, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring continuously. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Stir in salt, pepper, and additional Parmesan cheese to taste. Cook for another minute until the cheese is melted.
- Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Serve the chicken topped with the garlic cream sauce and enjoy!
