Description
Indulge in the delightful flavors of Baked Pears with Feta and Honey, where sweet pears meet creamy feta and a luscious honey glaze. This elegant dish is perfect for any occasion, offering a unique balance of sweet and savory.
Ingredients
- Ripe but firm pears (Bosc or Anjou, or firm Asian pears)
- Feta cheese (crumbled, or goat cheese as an alternative)
- Honey (or maple syrup as a vegan substitute)
- Walnuts or pecans (for added crunch, or pumpkin seeds as an alternative)
- Fresh thyme or rosemary (or dried herbs as a substitute)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Wash and halve the pears lengthwise. Use a spoon to scoop out the core and create a small cavity for the filling.
- Place the pear halves cut-side up in a baking dish. You can lightly grease the dish with a bit of olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Crumble feta cheese into each pear half, packing it gently into the cavity. If you’re using goat cheese, do the same.
- Generously drizzle honey over the filled pear halves. If you’re using maple syrup, pour it over the cheese filling.
- Sprinkle chopped walnuts or pecans on top of the cheese and add fresh herbs for an aromatic touch.
- Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, drizzled with extra honey if desired.
