Description
This Philly Cheesesteak Tortellini Pasta combines the iconic flavors of a classic cheesesteak with tender tortellini for a comforting meal. It’s a quick and satisfying dish that’s sure to impress your family and friends!
Ingredients
- Fresh or frozen cheese tortellini
- Thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin (or turkey/chicken for a lighter option)
- Sautéed bell peppers (any color) and onions
- Provolone cheese (or mozzarella/cheddar for creaminess)
- Fresh garlic
- Beef broth (or vegetable broth for vegetarian version)
- Heavy cream (or half-and-half/non-dairy cream alternative)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced beef, seasoning it with salt and pepper. Cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil if needed. Toss in the sliced bell peppers and onions, cooking until they’re softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Return the beef to the skillet, and then pour in the beef broth. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes to meld the flavors.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Add the cheese and stir until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a little more broth or cream to reach your desired consistency.
- Gently fold in the cooked tortellini, making sure each piece is well coated with the creamy sauce. Cook for another minute or two to allow everything to heat through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with additional cheese or fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Tortellini Pasta hot!
