  • 1/2 cup (65g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup (50g) chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir occasionally and remove from heat once melted.
  3. Add the granulated sugar to the melted butter and stir until well combined.
  4. Crack in the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  6. In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  7. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  8. Fold in chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts if desired.
