These Banana Pudding Brownies combine the rich, fudgy goodness of brownies with the creamy, nostalgic flavors of banana pudding. It’s a delightful dessert experience that will impress everyone!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 package Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 2 Ripe Bananas
  • 1 package Vanilla Wafers
  • 1 container Whipped Topping (Cool Whip or Homemade Whipped Cream)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Prepare Your Brownie Base
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides. Lightly grease the parchment.
  3. In a large, microwave-safe bowl or a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in both the granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.
  4. Whisk in the eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated and the mixture is smooth and glossy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing only until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  9. Step 2: Prepare the Banana Pudding Layer
  10. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and the cold whole milk for about 2 minutes, or until the mixture begins to thicken.
  11. Place the pudding mixture in the refrigerator for about 5-10 minutes to allow it to set up a bit more.
  12. Step 3: Assemble Your Banana Pudding Brownies
  13. Once your brownies are completely cool, arrange a single layer of vanilla wafers over the top of the brownie base.
  14. Evenly distribute a layer of freshly sliced ripe bananas over the vanilla wafers.
  15. Gently pour the slightly chilled and thickened vanilla pudding mixture over the bananas and wafers, spreading it evenly.
  16. Place the entire pan back into the refrigerator for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight.
  17. Step 4: The Finishing Touch
  18. Just before serving, spread your whipped topping evenly over the set pudding layer.
  19. Decorate with a few more vanilla wafers, some fresh banana slices, or a sprinkle of chocolate shavings.
  20. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the entire dessert out of the pan onto a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to cut into squares.

Keywords: For the best flavor and texture, use ripe bananas that are mostly yellow with a few brown spots. Ensure the brownies are completely cool before adding the pudding layer, and allow sufficient chilling time for the pudding to set.
