- Green beans (optional)
- Thinly sliced red onion (optional)
- Beef (thin strips of sirloin or flank steak, optional)
- Diced chicken breast or thighs (optional)
- Pre-cooked shredded chicken (optional)
- Raw shrimp (optional)
- Soy Sauce (low-sodium preferred)
- Rice Vinegar
- Toasted Sesame Oil
- Honey, maple syrup, or brown sugar
- Freshly minced ginger
- Freshly minced garlic
- Cornstarch
- Non-Alcohol Alternative (chicken or vegetable broth, or apple cider vinegar with sugar)
- Neutral oil (like olive or avocado oil)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
- Freshly chopped green onions (for garnish)
- Chili flakes (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Chop all your chosen vegetables into similar, bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the sauce ingredients: soy sauce, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, honey (or sweetener), minced ginger, minced garlic, and cornstarch until well combined.
- Spread the frozen dumplings and chopped vegetables in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Drizzle with a tablespoon of neutral oil and toss gently to coat.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes to help the dumplings crisp up and the vegetables soften.
- If adding raw beef strips, remove the pan from the oven after 15 minutes and distribute the beef evenly among the dumplings and veggies.
- Pour about two-thirds of the prepared sauce over the dumplings, veggies, and beef (if using). Toss everything gently with tongs to coat evenly, then return the pan to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes until the dumplings are golden brown and crispy, and the vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Remove the pan from the oven, drizzle with the remaining sauce (if desired), and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
