Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon orange zest (freshly grated)
- 1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup crushed graham crackers
- 1 cup orange-flavored candy melts (or additional white chocolate)
- 1/4 cup sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Place the white chocolate chips in a medium-sized mixing bowl.
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it just begins to simmer (small bubbles forming around the edges).
- Pour the hot cream over the white chocolate chips and let it sit for about 2 minutes.
- Gently stir the mixture with a whisk or spatula until smooth and creamy. If lumps remain, microwave for 10-15 seconds, being careful not to overheat.
- Add the orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, and salt to the ganache, stirring until well combined.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop.
- Once the ganache is firm, use a small cookie scoop or tablespoon to portion out the ganache.
- Roll each portion between your palms to form smooth balls. Dust your hands with powdered sugar if the ganache is too sticky.
- Place the rolled truffles on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Refrigerate the truffles for about 30 minutes to firm up again.
- Prepare the coating by melting the orange-flavored candy melts or white chocolate according to package instructions or in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave the chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until completely melted and smooth.
- Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let excess chocolate drip off before placing it back on the baking sheet.
- If using sprinkles, add them immediately after dipping while the chocolate is still wet.
- Repeat the dipping process for all truffles, reheating the chocolate if it thickens.
- Once all truffles are coated, refrigerate for about 30 minutes to set the chocolate coating.
- Transfer the truffles to an airtight container. They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
Notes
- For a more uniform shape, consider using a melon baller.
- Feel free to customize the sprinkles or omit them for a simpler look.
- These truffles make a great gift or party favor!
