These Parmesan Bread Bites are golden-brown, bite-sized pieces of bread that are perfectly crisp on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside. Coated with savory Parmesan cheese, fragrant garlic, and a hint of fresh herbs, they are utterly irresistible!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 day-old baguette, Italian loaf, or ciabatta, cut into 1 to 1.5-inch cubes
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan Reggiano or Grana Padano
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- Salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut your chosen bread into uniform 1 to 1.5-inch cubes.
- In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the minced fresh garlic, dried oregano, dried parsley, salt, and freshly ground black pepper until well combined.
- Place the bread cubes into a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted garlic-herb butter mixture evenly over the bread cubes and gently toss until all the bread cubes are thoroughly coated.
- Sprinkle about half of the freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the coated bread cubes and toss again gently to distribute the cheese.
- Spread the coated bread cubes in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, tossing halfway through for even browning.
- Once out of the oven, transfer the hot bread bites back into your mixing bowl. Sprinkle the remaining freshly grated Parmesan cheese over them and toss gently before serving warm.
