Description

These Parmesan Bread Bites are golden-brown, bite-sized pieces of bread that are perfectly crisp on the outside and wonderfully soft on the inside. Coated with savory Parmesan cheese, fragrant garlic, and a hint of fresh herbs, they are utterly irresistible!


Ingredients

  • 1 day-old baguette, Italian loaf, or ciabatta, cut into 1 to 1.5-inch cubes
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan Reggiano or Grana Padano
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut your chosen bread into uniform 1 to 1.5-inch cubes.
  3. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Stir in the minced fresh garlic, dried oregano, dried parsley, salt, and freshly ground black pepper until well combined.
  4. Place the bread cubes into a large mixing bowl. Pour the melted garlic-herb butter mixture evenly over the bread cubes and gently toss until all the bread cubes are thoroughly coated.
  5. Sprinkle about half of the freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the coated bread cubes and toss again gently to distribute the cheese.
  6. Spread the coated bread cubes in a single layer on your prepared baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, tossing halfway through for even browning.
  7. Once out of the oven, transfer the hot bread bites back into your mixing bowl. Sprinkle the remaining freshly grated Parmesan cheese over them and toss gently before serving warm.
