Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mini twist pretzels (or standard pretzels, graham crackers, or shortbread cookies)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 package (3 oz) strawberry flavored gelatin mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Crush the pretzels in a large Ziploc bag or food processor until you have fine crumbs with a few larger pieces.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the crushed pretzels with the granulated sugar. Pour in the melted butter and mix well.
  4. Press the pretzel mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish and bake for 8-10 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Remove the crust from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack.
  6. In a medium heatproof bowl, dissolve the gelatin mix in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1 cup of cold water. Set aside to cool.
  7. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until smooth.
  8. Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture.
  9. Once the gelatin mixture has cooled and is just starting to thicken, fold it into the cream cheese and whipped topping mixture.
  10. Gently fold in the chopped fresh strawberries.
  11. Spread the strawberry fluff mixture evenly over the cooled pretzel crust.
  12. Cover the baking dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
