Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cans of Canned Cinnamon Rolls
- 3–4 Apples (mix of Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Fuji, or Gala)
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 cup Water or Apple Juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Peel, core, and dice the apples into small, bite-sized pieces, about half an inch.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Stir until the apples are well coated. Pour in the water or apple juice and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the apples are tender-crisp. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Open the cans of cinnamon rolls, separate each roll, and cut each into 4 to 6 smaller pieces.
- Scatter about half of the cut cinnamon roll pieces evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spoon about half of the cooked apple mixture over the cinnamon roll pieces. Add the remaining cinnamon roll pieces and top with the rest of the apple mixture.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and the apples are bubbly. If the top gets too dark, tent it with aluminum foil for the last 5-10 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Prepare the glaze by warming the icing packets from the cinnamon rolls and drizzle generously over the warm bake.
