Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together 2 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Set this aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, ¾ cup of granulated sugar, and ¾ cup of brown sugar. Beat them together until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Beat in 2 large eggs, one at a time, making sure each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Then mix in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to over-mix.
- Gently fold in 2 cups of chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may still look slightly underbaked; that’s perfect!
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
