  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 16 servings 1x

Description

These Apple Pie Rice Krispie Treats combine the classic chewy, buttery Rice Krispies with the comforting flavors of apple pie. Each bite is a delightful blend of crunchy and gooey, perfect for autumn gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 10 oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 5 cups rice cereal
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Start by reserving 1/2 heaping cup of the mini marshmallows and set them aside for later.
  2. In a large pot, add the remaining marshmallows along with 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently until the marshmallows are completely melted and the mixture becomes smooth, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Once melted, remove the pot from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice.
  4. Pour in 5 cups of rice cereal and gently stir until all the cereal is evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture, about 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the reserved marshmallows to the mixture and fold them in gently.
  6. Line an 8×8 baking pan with parchment paper. Pour the cereal mixture into the prepared pan and lightly press it down into an even layer.
  7. Leave the treats at room temperature to set for at least 30 minutes.
  8. Once set, drizzle 1/4 cup of caramel sauce over the top.
