  • Author: Tessa
  • Total Time: 12 minute
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x

Description

This Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal Bake is a warm and inviting dish perfect for cozy autumn mornings. With a delightful blend of oats, apples, and spices, it’s a comforting hug in a bowl.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 2 apples, diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This ensures that the bake cooks evenly and achieves that lovely golden-brown top.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of rolled oats, 2 cups of almond milk, and 2 diced apples. Stir until everything is well mixed.
  3. Add in 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  4. If you're including walnuts, fold in 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts at this stage. Be careful not to over-mix.
  5. Grease a baking dish with a little oil or cooking spray to prevent sticking. Pour the mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes. You'll know it’s ready when the top is golden brown and the edges start to pull away from the sides of the dish.
  7. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5-10 minutes before serving.

Keywords: Letting the oatmeal bake cool for a few minutes allows it to firm up, making it much easier to slice and serve. You can also experiment with spices or add other fruits or nuts to customize the recipe.
